Google chief Eric Schmidt on ambitions in China

Eric Schmidt, who is stepping aside as chief executive of Google, has told the BBC he has ambitions to promote the web firm's business in China.

Speaking to the BBC's Stephanie Flanders, he said that out of the three people who ran the company, he was ''the person who believes the most in expanding into China''.

Mr Schmidt will remain as executive chairman, when Larry Page takes over as Google's chief executive.
