UK unemployment total rises again

The number of people out of work has gone up and according to the latest official figures people under 24 are being hit hardest.

Just over 20% of them are now unemployed and that is the highest level since comparable records began in 1992.

The new overall jobless total is 2.49 million -a rise of 44,000 in the three months to December.
