Tourism minister: 'Moving clocks forward not in policy'

The government is to set out a number of proposals to boost tourism, such as moving bank holidays to prolong the summer season and making tourist visas easier to obtain.

It also plans to use technology by helping the industry develop mobile phone applications.

John Penrose, Minister for Tourism, answered claims that high VAT put off tourists and added that Britain's weather meant it was a great year-round destination.
