Allied Irish Bank to cut 2,000 jobs
Ireland's second biggest lender, Allied Irish Bank, has announced that it is to cut 2,000 jobs during 2011 and 2012.
The bank, which is now just over 92% owned by the Irish state, has reported a net loss in 2010 of more than $14bn.
It currently employs about 15,000 people in Ireland and the UK.
