Silverware factory opens to public in Birmingham

An historic family silverware factory is preparing to reopen its doors to the public after being saved from demolition.

English Heritage acquired the J. W. Evans workshop in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter three years ago - it was at risk of becoming derelict, losing 100 years of history.

Now the rooms and workshops have been preserved.

It will open next month and tours will be held throughout the summer.

Katie Rowlett went along to take a look.
