'I have been inundated with CVs' says wine merchant

UK unemployment rose by 118,000 in the three months to November to 2.685 million, official figures show.

The number of people claiming Jobseeker's Allowance in December rose by 1,200 to 1.6 million.

One wine merchant in Exeter said she had been inundated with applications when she advertised for two part-time delivery driver jobs.

April Marks from Regency Wines said some of those who applied had been teachers and policemen.
