Profitable Barclays 'in top 10 world banks'

Ralph Silva of SRN Consultancy has said he would rank Barclays in a top 10 of world banks.

Barclays has reported a 3% fall in profits to £5.9bn for last year, after being hit by a slowdown at its investment bank arm.

But Mr Silva argued that, given the global economic landscape, Barclays is doing extremely well.
