Bill Ford warns of 'global gridlock'

Bill Ford, head of the US carmaker, is to warn that the rise in the number of cars in the world from one billion to an estimated four billion by 2050 could cause "global gridlock".

He will be making a key-note speech at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Monday.

He told the BBC that the company was there looking for partners to develop new software to help make cars more efficient and safer.
