Stamp duty holiday ends at weekend

At the end of the week, the stamp duty holiday ends for properties worth less than £250,000.

The tax band is being reintroduced because the Chancellor George Osborne believes the holiday has been ineffective in letting more people buy a home.

Property expert, Melanie Bien, told BBC Breakfast that people who missed out on the holiday should look forward to house prices dropping "over the next six months".
