Google and Oracle battle over Java patents

Google and Oracle go to court this week over patent rights to the programming language Java.

Oracle claims Google's Android mobile-phone software infringes Java copyrights, which Oracle owns.

Should Oracle win, it could claim up to $1bn and ask for an injunction against sales of Google's Android handsets.

The BBC's Rico Hizon spoke to Manoj Menon of Frost & Sullivan about the implications of this case for the technology industry.
