Australia aims for budget surplus by next year

The Australian government is due to unveil a budget which should eliminate its public spending deficit next year.

Treasurer Wayne Swann is expected to unveil a tough budget that includes deep spending cuts, paving the way for Australia's first budget surplus since the global financial crisis hit.
