Oil and gas reserves feed South China Sea tensions

Tensions have been rising between China and the Philippines over a territorial dispute in the South China Sea.

Chinese state media has warned the Philippines that military conflict is possible over a stand-off at a disputed reef, the Scarborough Shoal, off the Philippine coast.

The region is believed to be rich in oil and gas, as Tony Regan from the consultancy Tri-Zen International in Singapore explains.
