Cheque-bouncers on hunger strike in Dubai

While many people made a lot of money in Dubai, others were not so lucky when the property boom went bust.

Some investors were unable to honour cheques they had written for business deals and bouncing cheques in Dubai carries a heavy punishment.

Now, a growing number of foreigners in Dubai's jails - some with sentences of up to 40 years - have gone on hunger-strike to bring their cases to light.
