British Bankers Association backs bank lending stimulus

The Bank of England and Treasury plan to launch two new stimulus packages, a move which has been backed by the British Bankers Association.

Chief executive Angela Knight said she appluded Chancellor George Osborne and Bank of England governor Sir Mervyn King for providing extra and cheaper credit.

The scheme aims to provide billions of pounds of cheap credit to banks to lend to companies.
