EU deadline for airline carbon emission figures

Friday is the deadline the European Union has set for all the word's airlines to hand over their carbon emission figures.

The EU wants them so it can start taxing them for the carbon they pump out on flights using its airspace.

But Chinese and Indian airlines - backed by their governments - have flatly refused to co-operate, and face fines as a result.

Some fear this could escalate into a trade war in the skies.
