Cable outlines plans for shareholder control over executive pay

The Business Secretary, Vince Cable, has set out his plans to give shareholders greater control over executive pay.

Cable says that companies should hold votes on pay levels at least every three years, and stick to the results.

He also wants them to publish a single annual figure showing the total earned by senior staff.
