Business Bites: China's inflation hits 29 month low

The rate of inflation in China has hit a 29 month low with the consumer price index rising 2.2% in June.

The numbers come after the Chinese Premier Wen Jia-Bao warned over the weekend that the economy still faces huge pressure.

It is however hoped that slowing price rises will make it easier for the government and the central bank to continue their campaign of cutting interest rates and boosting growth.
