Rise in jobless struggling with pay day loans

There has been a four-fold increase in the number of unemployed people struggling with pay day loans, a leading debt charity has warned.

The Consumer Credit Counselling Service says that one in 20 of the jobless people it deals with have pre-existing payday loans that they are now struggling to repay.

Stephen Hunter, from Belfast, told 5 live's Dominic Laurie that he took out a pay loan in 2011 just before he lost his job.
