Local Rotherham shop owners boosting their high street

A campaign by local shop owners has helped turn a high street in Rotherham around.

In 2010, 28% of shops were empty and a businessman sought the help of the council to redevelop the town.

Chris Hamby owns an independent shoe shop and bought six empty buildings to give the town a face lift. He told BBC Radio 5 liveBreakfast other communities could do the same.
