Construction industry output falls

The decline in the construction industry has continued with the estimated total volume of output in the third quarter of the year down by 2.6% compared with the previous quarter.

It was down by 11.3% compared with the same time a year ago - the lowest level since 1999.

Senior strategist at Rabobank Jane Foley told BBC News that budget cuts in local government had lowered construction project funding across the country.
