'Energy prices need to be presented simply' - Which?

Stronger action is needed to ensure customers get a fair deal, a committee of MPs has told the regulator Ofgem.

The MPs said the big six energy suppliers took advantage of customer inertia to overcharge people who never switch, while offering cheap "loss leader" deals to lure new customers.

Which? chief executive Richard Lloyd told BBC News that all customers would benefit from a simple pricing structure and clearly set out costs, which would put pressure on companies to offer competitive prices.
