Samsung Electronics to buy stake in Sharp

South Korean giant Samsung Electronics is set to become one of the biggest foreign shareholders in Japanese rival Sharp.

Samsung has agreed to pay 10.4bn yen ($110m; £75m) for a 3% stake in Sharp, which has been struggling to stay profitable.

The BBC's Rupert Wingfield-Hayes says Japanese firms no longer dominate the consumer electronics market.
