Apple e-book trial: 'This is not just about books'

Technology giant Apple has begun its defence against charges by the US government that it tried to fix the prices of e-books.

The iPad-maker is accused of working with publishers in 2009 to set prices in an effort to compete in the e-book market dominated by Amazon.

The three-week, non-jury trial is taking place in New York and the BBC's Michelle Fleury says it is "not just about books".

"You have to remember that it (Apple) is also trying to defend its business model when it comes to selling other content - music, videos, TV", she added.
