Former mayor tells a tale of bribery

A former mayor of a small Italian town tells how he succumbed to the temptation of bribery.

Agatino Licandro told the BBC: "I took bribes because, at the time, it was part of the job.

"The money I took was distributed among local party officials. Everyone was doing it. It was considered normal.

"I started feeling very guilty and that drove me to call a judge and tell him everything I knew."
