Japanese shopping to cost more to reduce country's debt

Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has announced an increase in the country's sales tax in a bid to reduce its massive public debt - the world's largest.

However, there are concerns the move could also stop consumers spending as there was a recession after the last tax rise in 1997.
