'Firm hiring ex-soldiers gave me a new lease of life'

A former soldier, who applied for 327 jobs and did not get a single interview, says he has been given a "new lease of life" after being hired as a chauffeur.

Former Lance Bombardier Dan Richards, who lost his right arm and shoulder in a motorcycle accident in 2009, said he had few transferable skills because of his injuries.

However, he eventually found employment with Capstar Chauffeurs, a firm that offers job opportunities to former soldiers - either injured or able-bodied.

Mr Richards told BBC Radio 5 live's Tony Bonsignore: "This has given me a whole new lease of life and a completely new skill and trade."
