Sami reindeer herder: 'Iron mine will destroy our way of life'

The Sami have been herding reindeer in the mountain region between Sweden and Norway for thousands of years.

But they now say their way of life is under threat from a proposed iron mine.

British company Beowulf Mining wants to exploit the vast iron ore deposits known to lie in the area.

The Swedish authorities are still deciding whether to approve the application for a 25 year mining concession and opinion in the area is divided.

Jakob Nygard is a Sami reindeer herder.
