Christmas shoppers to spend £1.2bn on 'Panic Saturday'

Shops across the UK have been packed with last-minute present-buyers on "Panic Saturday" - the last Saturday before Christmas.

Retailers are expecting to double their takings throughout the weekend, with shoppers likely to spend around £1.2bn.

Panic Saturday follows on from Cyber Monday - the busiest day for people doing their Christmas shopping online.
