Television takes on social media in the Philippines

Billions of us still watch it for entertainment and news - but advertisers are wondering if television has much of a future or whether social media and the internet will eventually take over.

Meanwhile, a show in the Philippines called Eat Bulaga might be just be proving that the two aren't mutually exclusive.

It smashed social media records in October, generating more than 41 million tweets in a few hours. Its success largely revolves around the chemistry between its two young stars who are known online as Aldub.

The BBC's Rico Hizon interviewed the creator of Aldub Jenny Ferre and asked her if TV is really dead.
