University admissions service: 'Lots of vacancies'

Hundreds of thousands of teenagers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland receive their A-level results on Thursday.

For some students, the results will determine whether or not they get the university place they want.

The chief executive of the university admissions service Ucas, Mary Curnock Cook, advises students who have not got the grades they wanted to avoid rush decisions about their course as there are lots of vacancies.
