Hopes of pupils 'smashed' after free school loses funding
Prospective pupils for a free school that was due to open in Bradford have been left disappointed after the government cut its funding, because it failed to attract enough students.
A Bradford-based charity had hoped to open One In A Million Free School this year, but pupils have been told they must now find their education elsewhere.
One potential pupil, Kieran, expressed his unhappiness that the school would not open, saying that his hopes had been "smashed".
Janet East, a mother who had hoped her son James would attend the school, was concerned about how her child would struggle to adapt to the larger school he would now have to attend.
