Minister Norman Lamb warns of risk of home care scandal

The next big scandal could come from the home care for the elderly and disabled sector, the care minister has warned.

Norman Lamb said a quarter of all clients in England were unhappy with the service they received and that he was determined to "shine a spotlight" on the issue.

He said local authorities had a greater role to play in improving the quality of care for patients, describing instances where anyone from a pool of carers provided personal, intimate care as "an assault on your dignity".
