Academies: Little evidence they work, says cross-party group

There is no evidence to prove the government's flagship academies programme has raised standards for all schoolchildren, according to a cross-party group of MPs.

The report from the Education Select Committee says that standards have risen in the state school system, but it is still too early to determine the impact of academies.
