Nick Clegg: 'Wheels coming off' Labour's 'non-dom' plans

The Conservatives have said that Labour's proposal to end the "non-domicile" tax status for wealthy people is a "complete shambles" because of conflicting remarks by the shadow chancellor, Ed Balls.

The shadow chancellor said that scrapping the rule, which allows people not to pay tax on what they earn overseas, would bring in money. But in January, Mr Balls said an abolition would end up costing revenue.

Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg said "the wheels seem to be coming off" the Labour announcement.
