Elton John commemorates friend's death at AIDS benefit

Sir Elton John has commemorated the death of his "dear friend" at an AIDS benefit in New York City.

After performing Rocket Man and Don't Let The Sun Go Down on Me, the star lead a tribute to Ryan White, who was the inspiration behind Elton John's AIDS Foundation.

Sir Elton said he was extremely proud of the accomplishments of the foundation and the efforts to build on Mr White's "extraordinary legacy".
