Lawyer: Galliano recovery 'is lifetime fight'

The British designer, John Galliano, has gone on trial in France accused of making anti-Semitic insults at customers in a Paris cafe.

Mr Galliano, who was sacked by the Dior fashion house, told a packed courtroom that an addiction to alcohol and prescription drugs was to blame.

His lawyer, Aurelien Hamelle, explained what happened in court.
