High hopes for Brits at Emmy awards

Some of the best-known actors on British television are in competition for Emmy Awards, which will be handed out in Hollywood tonight.

The casts, writers and directors of shows including Sherlock, Downton Abbey, Luther and The Hour, as well as British actors in American shows, such as Damian Lewis in Homeland, will be hoping for success.

It is thought to be one of the closest races of recent years. The 1960s Ad agency show Mad Men, could make Emmys history if it wins best drama for the fifth consecutive year.

Alastair Leithead reports from Los Angeles.
