Have 80s Doctor Who special effects stood test of time?

Andrew Cartmel is a science fiction writer and journalist who worked as a script editor at Doctor Who for the 24th season of the iconic science-fiction show.

He oversaw the final three seasons of the programme's original run on BBC One and was responsible for trying to take the series in a new creative direction despite its declining ratings.

Here Mr Cartmel watches and gives commentary on three clips from his stint on the programme, rating how they have stood the test of time.
