Long-lost copy of symphony sells for £1.2m at auction

The only surviving handwritten copy of Rachmaninov's Second Symphony, which was lost for nearly a century, has made £1.2m at auction in London.

The work was written in 1908, but later disappeared and was found in the estate of a European private collector in 2004.

Rebecca Jones was at Sotheby's for the sale of one of Rachmaninov's masterpieces.
