How a penguin camera got up close to life in the Antarctic

It tells the story of a fight for survival against all odds and the battle for supremacy.

No this is not the new Star Wars, but a Christmas documentary set in the Antarctic and starring a baby emperor penguin - dubbed the Snow Chick.

Narrated by Kate Winslet, it follows the first months of his life, filmed up close, using pioneering technology.

Director and producer John Downer told BBC Breakfast about how he made the film.

Snow Chick: A Penguin's Tale is on BBC One at 8.30pm, Wednesday, 23rd December.
