Tough reception from nurses for Andrew Lansley

Health Secretary Andrew Lansley has faced a sceptical reception at the Royal College of Nurses' annual conference.

Members questioned him on a number of topics, including pensions, cuts and reforms, without incident. But nurses did express their disagreement with Mr Lansley's assertion that clinical staffing levels had increased, with one member of the audience shouting "rubbish".

Professor Rod Thomson, the Chair of Congress, stressed that nurses were "really concerned about people listening and taking action".
