Government make fresh vow to reform social care in England

The government is preparing to make a fresh commitment to reform the way social care is funded in England.

There had been fears that plans, which includes a cap on how much people should pay, had been shelved after ministers failed to agree where the money should come from. However, the coalition now appears determined to make faster progress.

James Landale reports.
