Muggy summer sees increase in insect bites

An increasing number of people are falling prey to creatures like ticks, horseflies, midges and mosquitoes.

Scientists says the warm, wet weather has created exactly the right conditions for the insects to breed and multiply.

Websites such as NHS Choices have seen a surge in the number of searches for advice and figures show a year-on-year increase in hospital admissions for insect bites.
