Abbas: Mosque closure a 'declaration of war'

Tensions mounted in Jerusalem on Thursday when Israel sealed off the Al-Aqsa Mosque, or Temple Mount after an attack on a Jewish activist on Wednesday.

The Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, said the closure of the compound was tantamount to a declaration of war.

Israel has said the area will re-open on Friday
