Scientists want guidelines on wholegrain consumption

Scientists from Newcastle University are urging the government to introduce guidelines on amounts of wholegrain foods consumed daily.

Researchers have found nearly 80% of British adults are not consuming the recommended 48 grams a day - that is equivalent to three slices of wholegrain bread.
