Piano Introduction from Cabaret Terezin

A small group of performers have been recreating songs written in the ghetto of Theresienstadt - the prison community near Prague where the Nazi authorities gathered Jewish families from Czechoslovakia and beyond between 1941 and 1945.

Musicologist Michael Wolpe interviewed 20 survivors from Theresienstadt and asked them to sing songs from the cabaret.

The songs and music were then pieced together into a show.

This is the piano introduction from Cabaret Terezin.
