Syria war videos key in online battle for support

The Obama administration has urged Americans to go online and see for themselves what it says is evidence the Assad regime has used chemical weapons on its own people, a charge the Syrian president denies.

But with hundreds of thousands of unfiltered videos of the civil war in Syria available online, how do people know what is real or fake? And what impact are such images having on the global debate over whether military force should be used to punish the regime?

The BBC's Jane O'Brien spoke to two experts who say many Americans remain unmoved despite appalling images of human suffering caused by all parties in the conflict.
