Falkland islanders vote on future as British territory

Falkland Islanders are about to vote in a referendum to decide whether they want to retain their political status as an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom.

Twenty-four-year-old Krysteen Ormond was born and raised on the islands and says she will vote yes.

Her father was part of the British Task Force which helped claim victory over Argentina in the Falklands conflict in 1982.

Argentina, which claims it rightfully owns the territory, has dismissed the referendum as a publicity stunt.

Newsbeat took Krysteen to see the Falklands Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.
