Discovery arrives at Smithsonian

Retired Nasa space shuttle Discovery arrives at its new home, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum's Steven F Udvar-Hazy Center just outside Washington DC.

Discovery was the workhorse of the shuttle fleet, carrying out 39 missions and travelling 10,000kms further than the distance from the Sun to Mars during its 27-year career.

Astronauts including John Glenn will take part in the welcoming ceremony, in which the shuttle will receive full honours.
