Tim Berners-Lee warns over threats to online freedom

The British scientist credited with inventing the web has said he fears the freedom of the online world is being put at risk by the demands of big business.

Sir Tim Berners-Lee told the BBC companies that want to control traffic on the internet could make it less free and open than he intended when he came up with the idea.
